Butter chicken is the name of the rich curry dish known in India as Murgh Makhani. It was discovered by chance by a restaurant in Delhi in the 1950s, by mixing leftover tandoori chicken with tomato sauce rich in butter.

- 600 grams of chicken thighs in strips or cubes
